Liquorice (Astragalus glycyphyllos) is a robust, more or less hairless perennialherb of the Leguminosae family found in Europe. The leaves are pinnately divided into ovate leaflets that taste of liquorice. The plant bears cream-coloured flowers carried in small, shortly-stalked clusters in the leaf axils. The fruit is a narrowly rectangular, slight flattened and curved, hairless pod. Research Liquorice
