The raspberry (Rubus idaeus and others) is a prickly deciduous shrub of the family Rosaceae, native to Britain and other European countries. It is a perennial plant with erect, woody stems which are produced as suckers from the roots, and are armed with numerous weak prickles and densely covered with a white bloom. The leaves are pinnate and have five to seven leaflets, and are white and hairy beneath. The raspberry bears a fruit which is red or orange when ripe and is widely eaten. Research Raspberry
