The Probert Encyclopaedia of Nature

VESPOIDEA

Vespoidea is the Wasp super-family of insects of the sub-order Apocrita, order Hymenoptera. The members are conspicuous by their yellow and black colouring. The eyes are kidney-shaped, the wings longitudinally folded over the body. Males have thirteen segmented antennae, females twelve.
