WOAD

Woad (Isatis tinctoria) is a biennial herbaceous plant of the family Cruciferae, native to Europe and north Asia but not to Britain. The stem is erect and smooth attaining a height of one meter and bears stalkless arrow- shaped leaves and elongated clusters of small yellow flowers.
