Picture of Arpad

Arpad was the hero of Hungarian ballad and romance. He was born about 870 and died in 907. He was the founder of the kingdom of Hungary.

Arpad or Andrew I was a King of Hungary. He died in 1061. He was a cousin of King Stephen, and owed his accession in 1046 to his crushing of a pagan rebellion.
