George Vlymer was an American statesman. He was born in 1739 at Pennsylvania and died in 1813. He was a signer of the American Declaration of Independence, but he was not present at its adoption. In 1775 he became continental treasurer, and was a member of Congress in 1776, 1777 and 1780. In 1778 he, with John Nixon, organized the Bank of North America. He was a member of the convention that framed the Federal Constitution, and elected to the first Congress held under its provisions. Research George Clymer
