JOHN HART

John Hart was an American statesman. He was born in 1708 and died in 1780. Known as Honest John Hart, he represented New York in the Continental Congress from 1774 to 1777, signed the Declaration of Independence, and in 1777-1778 was chairman of the New York Committee of Safety.
