JUAN DIAZ DE SOLIS

Juan Diaz de Solis was a Spanish navigator. He was born in 1470 and died in 1516. In 1515 he led an expedition to America and in 1516 discovered the River Plate, along which he sailed, and during which journey he was killed by members of the Charrua Indians of Uruguay.
