Roger Sherman was an American politician. He was born in 1721 and died in 1793. A shoemaker by trade, he was later a surveyor, a lawyer and a Judge of the Superior Court of Connecticut. He was one of the committee of five who drafted the American Declaration of Independence, and was a signatory of the American Declaration of Independence and a delegate to the first and second Continental Congresses.
