William Frederick Cody was an American scout and showman. He was born in 1846 and died in 1917. He coined the nickname 'Buffalo Bill' when in 1867 - 1868 he supplied 4000 buffaloes as food to the employees on the KansasPacificrailway. He toured America and Europe with his famous Wild West Show between 1883 and 1887 and in 1904 wrote 'The Adventures of Buffalo Bill'. Research William Cody
