Stan Laurel (real name Arthur Stanley Jefferson) was an English-born American actor. He was born in 1890 at Ulverston, Lancashire and died in 1965. He was a member of Fred Karno's touring company and an understudy to Charlie Chaplin. In 1910 he moved to the USA and appeared in his first film in 1917.
