STAN LAUREL

Stan Laurel (real name Arthur Stanley Jefferson) was an English-born American actor. He was born in 1890 at Ulverston, Lancashire and died in 1965. He was a member of Fred Karno's touring company and an understudy to Charlie Chaplin. In 1910 he moved to the USA and appeared in his first film in 1917. He is best known for his partnership with Oliver Hardy, which started in 1926, first in silent films and then migrated into the talkies.
