Ammon was an ancient Egyptian god. He was depicted as a human with a ram's head or simply with the horns of a ram. He was one of the chief gods, and was adopted by the Greeks as Zeus and the Roman's as Jupiter.There was a celebrated temple of Ammon in the Oasis of Siwah in the Libyan desert.
