HERPES

Picture of Herpes

There are two distinct viral infections known as herpes: herpes simplex and
herpes zoster. Both forms casue clusters of sore blisters on the skin, and both once established lie dormant waiting to erupt. The name herpes is given from the tendency of the eruption to creep or spread from one part of the skin to another (Greek herpein, to creep).
