The AKSU-74 is a Russian sub-machine-gun produced from 1975 as a shortened version of the AK74, intended for use by armoured troops, special forces and others requiring a compact weapon. The AKSU-74 is chambered for the 5.45 mm Sovietcartridge which it takes from a 30-round magazine and fires at a rate of 700 rounds per minute, or single-shot selectable by a lever on the right side of the receiver, with a muzzle velocity of 735 meters-per-second..
