BATTLE OF DUG SPRING

The Dug Spring was a sharp skirmish that occurred on August the 1st, 1861 during the American Civil War, between General Nathaniel Lyon's Federal force of 5500 and McCulloch's Confederate volunteers numbering 12000 at Dug Spring, Missouri. The Confederate forces suffered worse in the encounter.
