BATTLE OF MOLINO DEL REY

The Battle of Molino del Rey, Mexico occurred on September the 8th, 1847 during the Mexican War, when General Worth with 3500 soldiers defeated the Mexican leaders, Leon, Perez and Alvarez and their force of 10000 Mexicans. Scott sent Worth to attack this fortress by night, but this being found impracticable, Worth drew up his lines during the night and commenced battle at dawn, Wright leading the storming party, Garland cutting off support from Chapultepec, Mclntosh facing the Mexican right and Cadwalader the centre. The Mexicans fought bravely, but were overcome with much loss.
