BATTLE OF RODRIGUEZ'S CANAL

The Battle of Rodriguez's Canal was a prelude to the Battle of New Orleans that occurred near New Orleans on January 1sth 1815. Just before the Battle of New Orleans, General Jackson had made Rodriguez's Canal his line of defence against the British, who on January 1st, 1815, endeavored to storm the works. The British were repulsed.
