BATTLE OF STONY CREEK

The Battle of Stony Creek, Canada occurred during the War of 1812. A body of Americans under General Chandler, while pursuing General Vincent, encamped on June the 6th, 1813, at Stony Creek. During the gloom of night they were surprised and, attacked by Vincent. The British, after severe fighting withdrew having captured both General Chandler and General Winder.
