The Battle of Tenchebrai was a decisive English victory over the Normans on September the 28th 1106. Henry I of England had invaded Normandy, and met the Norman army under his brother Robert, Duke of Normandy, outside the town of Tencherbai (now called Tinchebrai). The English king dismounted his knights and arranged them in a solid mass. The Norman cavalry had some initial success, but the English phalanx drove the Norman infantry into a total rout. Robert was captured and Normandy was taken by Henry I. Research Battle of Tenchebrai
