Luger were a range of short recoil, single-actionsemi-automatic pistols designed by George Luger, manufactured by DWM from 1900 onwards and later by other companies including Mauser. Originally a 7.65 mm calibre pistol, various versions were made. The artillery Luger was a German 9 mm Parabellum calibresemi-automatic pistol introduced in 1917. It took a 8-round box magazine and had a 102 mm barrel and was in service from 1908 to 1945. A long barrel version, the Parabellum 'Long '08' was introduced in 1913 and served until 1945. It had a 200 mm barrel and was issued to support troops and the German Navy, and a new 32-round 'snail' magazine introduced in addition to the 8-round box magazine. All versions of the Luger had a U notch rearsight and an adjustable blade foresight which slides in a dovetail for zeroing.
