The M70 (originally called the M64 AssaultRifle) is a Yugoslavian gas-operated selective fire assaultrifle resembling the SovietAK47. The M70 is chambered for the 7.62 mm X 39 cartridge which it takes from a 30-round curved box magazine and fires with a muzzle velocity of 700 metres per second to an effective range of 400 metres with a cyclic rate of between 600 and 650 rounds per minute. The M70 is fitted with a pillar foresight and tangent notch rearsight and a permanently attached grenade launcher sight.
