The Lee Enfield number 4 rifle was a British bolt-operated rifle manufactured from the late 1930's and used by the British army throughout the Second World War. The Number 4 took a .303 inch Mk VII ball round from a 10-round box magazine. It had a muzzle velocity of 751 meters-per-second and was sighted to 1189 meters with an effective range of 500 meters. The Number 4 was fitted with a protected blade foresight and an adjustable aperture rearsight.
