SEVEN WEEKS WAR

The Seven Weeks War occurred between June the 8th and July the 26th 1866 and took place between Prussia and Austria in a bid for German supremacy. In the conflict Italy allied herself to Prussia, and hostilities broke out between Italy and Austria on July the 25th, but Austria was defeated the next day. As a result of the war the Treaty of Prague was signed on August the 23rd 1866, followed by a Treaty of Vienna on October the 3rd, by which treaties Austria was excluded from Germany, and Prussia was made head of the German states.
