A fluid is a body whose particles on the slightest pressure move and change their relative position without separation; that is a liquid or a gas, as opposed to a solid. Fluids are divided into liquids, such as water and bodies in the form of water; and gaseous bodies or aeriform fluids. Liquids have been also termed non-elastic fluids, for although they are not altogether void of elasticity, they possess it only in a small degree. Air and aeriform bodies have been called elastic fluids on account of their great elasticity. Research Fluid
