In mathematics a vector (from the Latin for carrier) is any quantity involving direction and magnitude. Such a quantity is usually represented by a line with an arrow. Vector quantities in physics are those quantities which can be represented by a vector. Such quantities are linear velocities, a force acting on a body, etc. Vector analysis is that branch of mathematics which is concerned with the properties of vectors. This is of particular use in physics, e.g. the electro-magnetic theory. Research Vector
