The Sopwith Pup (officially the Sopwith Scout or Sopwith Type 9901) was a British single-seater fighter aircraft of the Great War, built as a miniature version of the Sopwith Strutter. The Sopwith Pup was highly manoeuvrable and very easy to control, making it a match for the German Albatros D-III. In August 1917 a Sopwith Pup was the first aircraft to land aboard a moving ship, the Royal Navy's HMS Furious. The Sopwith Pup had a top speed of 103 mph and an endurance of three hours. It was armed with a single synchronous machine-gun. Research Sopwith Pup
