The Zlin Z-42 is a Czech two-seater side-by-side primary/basic flying trainer and touring aircraft first flown in 1967, entering service in 1968. The Zlin Z-42 is a low-wing cantilever monoplane fitted with a non-retractable tricycle type landing gear and powered by an Avia M 137 inline piston engine providing a top speed of 230 kmh and a range of 800 km.
