FREIGHT

Properly, freight is the sum paid by a merchant or other person hiring a ship, aircraft or part of such a vessel, for the use of the vessel or part of it during a specified journey, or for a specified time. The term is also applied to any sum charged for the transportation of goods, and by extension to goods carried.
