Philadelphia is a drama starring Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Roberta Maxwell and Buzz Kilman in a story about a successful gay lawyer diagnosed as HIV positive who, failing to inform his employer of his illness, is sacked and subsequently attempts to sue the company or wrongful dismissal. Philadelphia was directed by Jonathan Demme in 1993.
