THE BLUE LAMP

The Blue Lamp is a crime drama starring Jack Warner, Jimmy Hanley, Dirk Bogarde, Robert Flemyng, Gladys Henson, Bernard Lee and Peggy Evans in a story about a new police recruit taking up the case of a veteran London policeman shot by two criminals. The Blue Lamp was directed by Basil Dearden in 1949 and went on to spawn the television series 'Dixon of Dock Green'.
