The Probert Encyclopaedia of Food & Drink

CALLALOO

Callaloo is the Jamaican name for the young leaves of two distinct plants; the taro plant and Chinese spinach, eaten as a vegetable. It is not, as some cookery books suggest, a Jamaican name for spinach.
