ARDEAL

The Ardeal was a Romanian monitor of 450 tons displacement launched in 1904 as the Austro-Hungarian ship Temes which was sunk in October 1914, raised in 1916 and rebuilt in 1917 before being interned in 1919 and handed over to Romania in 1919 and subsequently stationed on the Danube. The Ardeal had a top speed of 10 knots and carried a complement of between 80 and 90. She was armed with two 4.7 inch guns; one 3.5 inch anti-aircraft gun; two 47 mm guns and four machine-guns, not all the guns being mounted in turrets.
