The Probert Encyclopaedia of Ships

ARDENT

HMS Ardent was a British A class destroyer of 1350 tons launched in 1929. She saw action during the Second World War, before being sunk in June 1940 by the German ship Scharnhorst off Narvik with the loss of all hands except Able Seaman Rodger Hooke. HMS Ardent had a top speed of 35 knots, was crewed by a complement of 138 and was armed with four 4.7 inch guns and two torpedo tubes.
