BALEARES

The Baleares was a Spanish first class cruiser of 10000 tons displacement launched in 1931 and torpedoed and sunk in March 1938. The Baleares was powered by eight Yarrow oil-fired boilers providing a top speed of 33 knots and a range of 12800 km at 15 knots. She carried a complement of 765, two aircraft and was armed with eight 8 inch guns; eight 4.7 inch anti-aircraft guns; eight 2 pdr pom-pom anti-aircraft guns and twelve 21 inch torpedo tubes arranged in triples.
