BATAAN

The USS Bataan was an American Independence Class light fleet aircraft carrier of 11000 tons displacement started as a Cleveland Class cruiser, converted during building, and launched in 1943. The USS Bataan was powered by Babcock and Wilcox boilers providing a top speed of 33 knots. She carried a complement of 1400 and 45 aircraft. She was armed with sixteen 40 mm anti-aircraft guns and forty 20 mm anti-aircraft guns.
