BLANCO ENCALADA

The Blanco Encalada was a British-built Chilean cruiser of 3435 tons displacement launched in 1893. The Blanco Encalada had a top speed of 22.75 knots when new, reduced to 19 knots by 1940 and a range of 8000 km at 10 knots. She carried a complement of 427 and was armed with two 8 inch guns; ten 6 inch guns; five 3 inch guns; one 1-pdr gun and two Maxim machine-guns.
