CAPETOWN

HMS Capetown was a British Ceres Class cruiser of 4200 tons displacement launched in 1919 that saw action during the Second World War. HMS Capetown was armed with five 6-inch guns; two 3-inch anti-aircraft guns; four 3-pounder guns; ten smaller guns and eight torpedo tubes arranged in four double mountings. HMS Capetown was powered by eight Yarrow oil boilers providing a top speed of 29 knots and carried a complement of between 400 and 437.
