The Probert Encyclopaedia of Ships

DEVONSHIRE

HMS Devonshire was a British London Class cruiser of 9850 tons displacement launched in 1927. HMS Devonshire carried a crew of 650 and was powered by eight Admiralty 3-drum type boilers providing a top speed of just under 33 knots. Armaments consisted of eight 8-inch guns; eight 4-inch anti-aircraft guns; four 3-pdr guns and fourteen smaller guns and eight 21-inch torpedo tubes arranged in two quadruple mounts. An aircraft was also carried.
