HMS Ranger is a British P2000 Class (Archer Class) University Royal Naval Unit patrol boat of 54 tonnes displacement used for training university students at the Sussex University Royal Navy unit in seamanship and providing an introduction to life in the Royal Navy. HMS Ranger is powered by two Perkins (RR) CV12 Turbo Diesel engines providing a top speed of 24 knots and a range of 550 nautical miles at 15 knots.
