LUCIA

HMS Lucia was a British submarine depot ship of 5800 tons displacement launched in 1907. HMS Lucia was originally the German civilian liner Spreewald which sailed the Hamburg-America line, but was captured by HMS Berwick in 1914 and was converted into a submarine depot ship in 1916. HMS Lucia had a top speed of 12.7 knots and carried a complement of 262. She was armed with two 3-pdr anti-aircraft guns.
