POPE

The USS Pope was an American flush deck type destroyer of 1193 tons displacement launched in 1920 and sunk in 1942 in action against the Japanese during the Second World War. The USS Pope was powered by four White-Forster oil-burning boilers providing a top speed of 35 knots. She carried a complement of 122 and was armed with four 4 inch guns; one 3 inch anti-aircraft gun and twelve 21 inch torpedo tubes arranged in four triple arrangements.
