The Probert Encyclopaedia of Ships

PROTECTOR

HMS Protector was a British net laying warship of 2900 tons displacement launched in 1936 that saw action during the Second World War. HMS Protector was powered by two Admiralty 3-drum type oil fuelled boilers providing a top speed of 20 knots and carried a complement of 190. Armaments consisted of one 4-inch gun and one machine-gun.
