SERANG

The Serang is a French-built Malaysian Perdana Class fast attack craft of 234 tons displacement commissioned in 1973. The Serang is powered by four Mercedes-Benz MTU 870 diesel engines providing a top speed of 36.5 knots and a range of 1800 miles at 15 knots. The Serang carries a crew of four officers and 26 men and is armed with two Aerospatiale Exocet MM38 anti-ship missiles; one Bofors 57 mm/70 anti-ship gun and one Bofors 40 mm/70 dual-purpose gun.
