The Seydlitz was a German Hipper Class heavy cruiser (schwere kreuzer) of 10000 tons displacement launched in 1939. The Seydlitz had a top speed of 32 knots and carried a complement of 830. She was armed with eight 8 inch guns; twelve 4.1 inch anti-aircraft guns; twelve 37 mm anti-aircraft guns; twelve 21 inch torpedo tubes arranged in four triples and carried four aircraft.
