SPRUANCE CLASS

The Spruance Class is a type of American destroyer. They have a displacement of 9100 tons. The ships are powered by four General Electric LM 2500 gas turbines, producing 80000 shaft horsepower and a top speed in excess of 30 knots. The ships are manned by a crew of 30 officers and 352 enlisted men and carry Two SH-60 Seahawk LAMPS III helicopters. Armaments consist of 8 Harpoon missiles (from two quad launchers), Tomahawk missiles; ASROC; six Honeywell Mark-46 torpedoes (from two triple tube mounts); two 5in/54 calibre Mk-45 guns and two 20mm Phalanx CIWS.
