The Tromp was a Dutch cruiser of 3350 tons displacement launched in 1937. The Tromp was powered by four Yarrow oil-burning boilers providing a top speed of 34.5 knots and carried a complement of 309. She was armed with six 5.9-inch dual-purpose guns; eight 40 mm anti-aircraft guns in twin mountings; four 12.7 mm anti-aircraft guns in twin mountings; four depth charge throwers; six 21-inch torpedo tubes arranged in two triples and one aircraft.
