VAINAMOINEN

The Vainamoinen was a Finnish coast defence ship of 3900 tons displacement launched in 1930. The Vainamoinen was powered by Germania diesel engines providing a top speed of 15.5 knots. She carried a complement of 343 and was armed with four 10-inch guns; eight 4.1 inch anti-aircraft guns and four 2-pdr anti-aircraft guns, later replaced with four 40 mm anti-aircraft guns and supplemented by six additional 20 mm Madsen anti-aircraft guns
