VALLEY FORGE

The USS Valley Forge was an American Essex Class fleet aircraft carrier of 27100 tons displacement launched in 1945. The USS Valley Forge was powered by eight Babcock and Wilcox boilers providing a top speed of 33 knots. She carried a complement of 2900 and normally 82 aircraft though up to 103 could be carried. She was armed with ten 5 inch guns; seventy-two 40 mm anti-aircraft guns and fifty-two 20 mm anti-aircraft guns mounted in quads.
