The Probert Encyclopaedia of Ships

WALPOLE

HMS Walpole was a British W Class destroyer of 1100 tons displacement launched in 1918. She was armed with four 4-inch guns; two 2-pounder pompom anti-aircraft guns; one machine gun; four Lewis guns and six 21-inch torpedo tubes arranged in two triple mountings. She was powered by three Yarrow oil boilers providing a top speed of 34 knots and carried a complement of 134.
