ALSACE-LORRAINE

Alsace-Lorraine was a former province of Germany, on the east of France, partly bounded by the Rhine; comprised of the regions of Alsace and Lorraine. The region was under a lieutenant-governor, and was divided into the districts of Lower and Upper Alsace and Lorraine, at the head of each there being a president.
